Music · On shelf

Music, above everything.

The Apple Music desktop app on macOS does not offer an always-on-top mode; native Mac apps cannot be forced above other windows. TopShelf works around this by pinning the Apple Music web player as a small floating window on top. Same playback controls, same library, same recommendations, plus always-on-top.

How to do it with TopShelf

  1. 1 Open TopShelf from your menu barClick the TopShelf icon in the macOS menu bar.
  2. 2 Paste the Apple Music web URLPaste https://music.apple.com/ into the New Website field. Sign in with your Apple ID inside the floating window.
  3. 3 Resize to a cornerTopShelf floats the Apple Music player above every other window on screen, even when you switch spaces or go full-screen. Resize it to sit unobtrusively in a corner.
